It’s more important than ever to elect thoughtful and compassionate leaders to all levels of government. Tuesday night was an excellent night for Iowa and our battle to take back the U.S. Senate. Theresa Greenfield won the Democratic primary and will now face off against Republican Senator Joni Ernst. Ernst opposes raising the minimum wage and wants to eliminate both the IRS and the Department of Education! Ernst must go, and Theresa is the candidate to do that.

Theresa knows firsthand how important it is to elect leaders who will look out for all of us. Theresa’s first husband died on the job as an electrician when she was just 24, leaving her with a 13-month-old toddler and another child on the way. She credits Social Security survivor benefits with saving her family, and she’ll fight in Congress to make sure every family has the support they need. Fight for Progress is proud to support Democrats in races across the country to help flip the Senate blue. Iowa is crucial, and we need to make sure Theresa has the resources she needs to win.
